The Rule of a community is a document setting out the principles and values by which its members try to live. When we make our vows it is ‘according to the Rule and Constitution of the Community of the Sisters of the Love of God’.
Our Rule has developed with us: at first given to us by the priests of the Society of St John the Evangelist who guided us in our early days, it has been read and pondered constantly, and revised from time to time by the community. The Rule provides a framework based on Gospel values for our life together. It helps us to live objectively; to live always in the challenge of meeting God, meeting the community, and meeting the world around us.
